A Unique Experience in the Heart of Istanbul: Hisart Live History Museum

What is Hisart and Why Is It So Special?

Hisart is a pioneering museum that reinterprets traditional museology and brings history to life in a tangible way. Its core mission is to present historical events not only through written records but also through visual and spatial storytelling. In this regard, the museum offers an educational and impactful experience that builds historical awareness for both adults and children.

The museum’s founder, Nejat Çuhadaroğlu, has brought together the collection through his decades-long passion for collecting. These pieces come to life through custom-designed handmade dioramas, depicting battle scenes, diplomatic moments, daily life of the era, and stories of heroism.

What Can You See at Hisart?

Handmade Dioramas

The most striking elements of the museum are the dioramas—detailed recreations based on real events. Each one is carefully crafted with artistic precision to authentically reflect the historical atmosphere. With over 70 dioramas, the exhibits span various eras and civilizations including the Ottoman Empire, Seljuks, Romans, European armies, and both World Wars.

Original Artifacts and Accessories

Hisart stands out not only with its dioramas but also with its impressive collection of artifacts. Visitors can see, in their original state:

  • Swords, helmets, and armor from the Ottoman period

  • Rifles, pistols, medals, uniforms

  • Historical flags, everyday objects, and much more

A 6-Floor Exhibition Space

The museum has six floors, each thematically and chronologically curated. The exhibits are accompanied by informative content that helps visitors grasp the historical context more clearly.
